Update: Angelo spent weeks in the hospital recovering and winning hearts. Not only is he going to make a full recovery, but he also found a forever home.

Sick and injured animals arrive daily at overcrowded shelters and rescue across the country.  These shelters are already struggling to feed and care for all the animals on their minimal budgets and do not have the funds for emergency medical care. 

That is where your donations to Greater Good Charities' Emergency Animal Medical fund come to the rescue. These animals all deserve a second chance to find a loving home, like a sweet puppy named Angelo. 

The four-month-old puppy was brought to a shelter struggling to breath with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car. 

He was rushed to a local animal hospital to try and save his life. Angelo arrived suffering from a fractured leg, multiple rib fractures, lung contusions, and a pneumothorax. 

The medical team immediately put him in an oxygen chamber to help alleviate his labored and painful breathing. He spent days in the chamber with tubes in his chest to help drain the excess fluid around his lungs.

The shelter shared, "There were a few days we weren’t sure if he’d pull through. Despite it all, this tiny but mighty little boy never gave up!"

His other injuries were assessed, and he will need surgery to repair his fractured leg. His medical bills are quickly adding up and he will need to remain at the hospital for weeks to recover.
